Blog roll

“Good God Dude! Ya Blog’s Been Ninja’d”

Well almost,  I did it :0

The previous blog theme (Arclite 2.02 by http://digitalnature.ro/) is good.  But it was always intended as a temporary theme.  I’ve toyed with others, but never really got around to actually installing the one I wanted (Atahualpa 3.4.6 by BytesForAll.) takes a lot of setup.  As I’m sure you’ll agree the best stuff takes time to get.  Getting Arclite going was a case of installing it and clicking ‘apply’   That’s not to denigrate the quality of Arclite.

As you all know life is busy now that technology is freely available.  My customers contact me almost 24 hours a day.  I have Email to my phone,  I can control my remotly hosted servers without the need for a PC.

I seem to have more to do with my family and friends then ever (not a bad thing)  And we have loads of builders in getting everything covered in dust.

And then we have EVE life.  The Forums (EVE and Corp).  EVE it’s self.  Demands from Corpies (not demands as such.  More requests).  Ship movements and purchases (some of them to replace lost ones).  Character planning.  Yada Yada Yada.   It’s a surprise I get anything done.

And last, but not least is Rana’s blog.  Let alone making changes to the blog.

So in an effort to get me off my arse, I activated the new blog in it’s default form.  Hate it?  Wanna kill me?  Good, moan all you like,  It’ll give me the drive to get it sorted.

And……  yes this a  bonus…….  You get to see it evolve over time.  Cool huh?

Thought so.

Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail.

I’ve spent the last few days in Umokka after going there to Help Cyberin in a Rifter pop a MR in a Drake.  Not that I was needed.   It was like being in the army.  Hurry up and wait.   Although I did get good advice from the master ninja about RR ships.

I hate admitting I’m wrong, and the RR ship I had fitted was designed for a different purpose,  but Cyberin’s is a lot more focused.

Anyway,  these few days in Umokka I’ve been relearning can-flipping.  A skill I kinda didn’t really learn a whole lot about.  Flipping Skill lvl1.   There seems to be a lot of miners, but few cans around.  People are hauling back to the station as they mine (Terribly efficient) or, and get this, using mining drones on an Orca.  Yes I’ve seen you doing it.  You should be ashamed.  Such a waste of a good mobile personal station.

I ended up getting bored, and came across an Osprey jet can mining.  Now, I’m not the sharpest knife in the draw, but an Osprey using one miner.  Smells of a trap.

Back to station to purchase a few products (more later) for my Wreath.  It’s a Minmatar Indy.  I only fly it because I’ve never seen anyone fly one.

I have to admit I fitted a Warp Stabiliser II as I suspected a trap, and anyone with brains will fit a scram.

Warping back,  I slow-boat over the the miner, giving him plenty of time to organise.  I’m still hoping he’s either forgotten a scram, or my stab will suffice.   Such doubts.  Maybe I should have fitted two.  Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this.

Flip! Osprey targeting.  Rana mashing Warp on the most direct warpable point , Osprey locked, scrammed, shields melting (like I’m surprised) 30 secs later I’m sitting in my pod looking wet.

Bugger.  I dock up to lick my wounds and after 30 seconds I launch again in my Vigil,  this time warping straight to my wreck I empty it and salvage.  Mr Osprey has gone,  he’s probably docked up.

We get back to Lavraen talking about SN. Tchell is the founder of SN. This guy has a history with SN then I presume.

[ 2010.04.20 22:02:34 ] Lavraen > for some reason i have Tchell in my addy book
[ 2010.04.20 22:02:44 ] Lavraen > I’m sure i’ve had good dealings in the past

[ 2010.04.20 22:03:44 ] Lavraen > do you get many merc decs nowadays?
[ 2010.04.20 22:04:09 ] Rana Marrello > Very few recently.   We ripped an Alliance apart after we got deced by them.  Still

trying to get new DEc’s.

That’s a referance to Deadspace society incase you were wondering.
[ 2010.04.20 22:04:18 ] Rana Marrello > Nothing for weeks now.
[ 2010.04.20 22:05:18 ] Lavraen > heard of an alliance called the compass?
[ 2010.04.20 22:05:31 ] Lavraen > we flipped a few of them recently and they were full of themselves
[ 2010.04.20 22:05:35 ] Rana Marrello > Hence flipping cans.   Normally I’m off probing fat MR’s.     Haven’t flipped in months.

 Obviously out of practice.
[ 2010.04.20 22:05:50 ] Rana Marrello > Nope..  Good tears?
[ 2010.04.20 22:05:55 ] Lavraen > yeah very good
[ 2010.04.20 22:06:07 ] Lavraen > they whined like stuffed pigs

Ohh,  this get’s my interest.  While I often get people pointing me in the direction of carebears that ‘just have to be flipped’ Lavraen’s said the right words.  Looks like this might be a full barrel of tears.
[ 2010.04.20 22:06:21 ] Rana Marrello > Ohh.  Nice one.
[ 2010.04.20 22:07:23 ] Lavraen > yeah there are a few around that look juicy
[ 2010.04.20 22:07:35 ] Rana Marrello > I’ll have to mention it.

Even though I got popped there is still info to be gleaned from convo’s.  Don’t be afraid to talk to people it is after all a MMO..

And Thanks for the info on Compass Alliance..  Be seeing ya soon maybe.

The end of the world as we know it?

As you may know our estimed CEO (Velocity Prime) has stood down.   RL calls.

To paraphrase

The CEO is dead long live the CEO.

The Honorable (snigger)  Aiden Mourn has been saddled blessed with the mantle of CEO of the greatest Corporation in EVE:

We are sure that Aiden will excel in the position and boost SN further into the realms of stardom that VP and before him Tchell have lead.

VP’s off to persue other avenues of evilosity (Ohh, a new word.  10 points!)  as announced on his blog.  If ya see him throw stuff his way.  The best of luck and fortune to you VP.   Go and do anything.  Just don’t carebear.

Aiden becomes grand ninja master of the green lilac?

Congratulations are in order.  Aidenhas ninjad the CEOship out of Velocity primes hands.

Well if I’m honest Velocity Prime has retired from the position of SN’s CEO and passed the baton onto Aiden,  I’m sure we all thank VP for his work over the last few months and look to Aiden to lead us into a new and exciting future.

No pressure Aiden..  And I assume that any taxation of corp members doesn’t apply to me :)

When changing credit cards:

Remember to tell CCP that you’ve changed.

My Alt’s stuck in a W-space alliance operation that I’m begining to regret.  It’s a C5.  Some muppet in the alliance warped around all the Grav and pew sites a week ago.  As you know if you warp (or even start a warp) to a W-space site the timer starts.  So about 4 days later every site de-spawned.

It’s a bugger.  4 days now with nothing to do..   And (the reason for this post)  I’ve changed credit cards and stopped the old one a little early (new one arrived today)  Rana’s been off-line for a few days.  So nothing at all to do.

I have the time to play, I have the ‘want’ to play.  But not the ability.

Now,  surely it’s in CCPs interest to keep us paying.  Ideally without a break.  I wonder how many people stop playing and don’t stop the Credit card.  I am sure CCP get more dinero’s that way.

The problem is, they don’t tell us.  Supposedly there is a warning on the logon or character screen.  I’ve never seen it, and I’ve looked.  The only place I can find such info is on the account setting page.  Who looks there?  Apart from to change credit cards?.   Umm opps.

I know some will say that it’s our responsibility but I’m too busy ninjaing.   Maybe I should ransom people more often.

Ach anyway  time to recharge Rana’s account.  Carebears will be missing me.

Length and quality.

How long will you read a blog for?  Research suggests 95seconds is the average.   Is that all?     One blogger suggests Blog posts don’t become a blog until 250 words.   Another tries to keep blogs short, but regularly breaks the mythical 1k words barrier.  So what is correct?
